The law firm was founded in 1929 in Perryton, Texas, located in the northeastern part of the Texas Panhandle. In addition to the Perryton office identified at the bottom of this page, the firm has an office at 122 South Main Street, P. O. Box 348, Booker, Texas, 79005, (806) 658-4545, fax (806) 658-4524, where Randy Phillips and Matthew Bartosiewicz are the resident attorneys. The law firm now provides a wide range of legal services in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. It has an active civil trial practice in state and federal courts and by mediation and arbitration. All attorneys of the firm are licensed to practice law in both Texas and Oklahoma, except for Matt and Jessica McCallie who are only licensed in Texas.

Two attorneys of the firm are Board Certified by the Texas Board of Specialization. Robert Lemon is board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law, and Otis Shearer is certified in Civil Trial Law. Mr. Shearer has been listed as a Texas Super Lawyer in the practice area of General Litigation beginning with the October 2006 issue of the Texas Monthly magazine. Mr. Bartosiewicz has been designated as a Rising Star in the practice area of General Litigation beginning with the April, 2008 issue of the Texas Monthly magazine.

A wide variety of transactions are handled by attorneys of the firm, including drafting wills & trusts, probating wills, administering estates & trusts, as well as income, trust & estate taxation.

Robert Lemon, of counsel, has been the attorney for the North Plains Ground Water Conservation District since its inception in 1955. He has handled many oil and gas and other litigation cases since he joined the firm in 1954.

Otis Shearer has prepared and tried a wide variety of civil cases in the trial and appellate courts since his 1967 joinder with the firm.

Randy Phillips is County Attorney for Lipscomb County and City Attorney for the City of Booker, and he represents several area banks and other businesses and individuals.

Keith Good is the attorney for the North Plains Electric Cooperative and for the Ochiltree General Hospital, and he represents Interstate Bank, ssb, of Perryton and also various individuals and businesses.

Matthew D. Bartosiewicz joined the law firm in early 2004 and handles litigation in addition to general office practice. He practiced law with a firm in Ft. Worth for over three years before coming to our firm.
