The law firm was founded in 1929 in Perryton, Texas, located in the northeastern part of the Texas Panhandle. The law firm now provides a wide range of legal services in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. It has an active civil trial practice in state and federal courts and by mediation and arbitration. All attorneys of the firm are licensed to practice law in both Texas and Oklahoma, except that Mr. Schilling is licensed in Texas and Kansas.

Otis C. Shearer is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Specialization. Mr. Shearer has been listed as a Texas Super Lawyer in the practice area of General Litigation beginning with the October 2006 issue of the Texas Monthly magazine. Mr. Bartosiewicz was designated as a Rising Star in the practice area of General Litigation in the April, 2008 issue of the Texas Monthly magazine.

Randy Phillips is City Attorney for the City of Booker, and he represents several area banks and other businesses and individuals.

Keith Good is the attorney for the North Plains Electric Cooperative and for the Ochiltree General Hospital, and he represents Interstate Bank, ssb, of Perryton and also various individuals and businesses.

Matthew D. Bartosiewicz joined the law firm in early 2004 and handles litigation in addition to general office practice. He practiced law with a firm in Ft. Worth for over three years before coming to our firm. He is now County Attorney for Lipscomb County.

Carson Schilling, who is also a certified public accountant, joined the law firm in February of 2009. He will handle tax matters in addition to a general office practice. He has seven years of experience with a Wichita, Kansas, law firm where he represented clients in tax controversies before the federal court. He is also experienced in wills, probate, trusts, estates and business law.
